ZJSU Co-organized the 29th Major Assembly of Chinese Educators

On April 9th, 2024, over 50 educators representing universities took participation in the Major Assembly of Chinese Educators in Zhejiang Gongshang University. Joining the delegation was Mr. Liu Maozhou, a Level-One Inspector from the Education and Technology Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR (LOCPG HK). President Wang Yonggui, with Vice President Gu Qing held a meeting with the delegation led by Mr. Liu Maozhou.


President Wang Yonggui extended a warm welcome to Liu Maozhou and the visiting educators, providing a concise overview of the ZJSU’s history, academic disciplines, and the enrollment of students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. He emphasized that ZJSU is a co-construction University of People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Education. Recognizing the wealth of high-quality higher education resources in Hong Kong, he expressed the hope for robust support from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong, enabling them to engage in high-level educational exchanges and cooperation with prestigious universities in the region. Liu Maozhou expressed gratitude for the warm reception and their role as a co-organizer of the 29th Major Assembly of Chinese Educators. He acknowledged the solid school-running foundation and disciplinary characteristics of ZJSU, expressing support for enhancing diverse forms of exchanges and cooperation between the university and the Hong Kong region.


During his speech, Liu conveyed that the Education and Technology Department of LOCPG HK fully supports educational exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and Chinese mainland. He expressed confidence that the visit to ZJSU would result in fruitful communication and interaction. Gu Qing provided an introduction to ZJSU, with the hope that this event would create an opportunity for closer high-level cooperation and the training of talent with strong innovative capabilities. Professor Li Lan from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, delivered a speech representing all educators. She expressed gratitude for this excellent platform for communication, acknowledging that visiting ZJSU would make possible teachers’ deep understanding of the distinctive educational characteristics and valuable experiences of sister institutions. She extended her thanks to the university for the thoughtful arrangements.


The visiting guests had the opportunity to visit the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Liberal Arts and the Sussex Artificial Intelligence Institute of ZJSU. They paid a visit to various facilities, including smart classrooms, the Chinese cultural experience center, the European and American cultural experience center, the virtual simulation experience center, and the exhibition space showcasing AI systems. The students from the institute impressed the visitors with live demonstrations of robotics, 3D printing, intelligent vehicles, and other experimental facilities and technological works for competition. The visiting educators highly praised ZJSU for its breakthrough in international collaboration and joint education, state-of-the-art research facilities, abundant teaching resources, engaging lectures, and insightful case studies. They also commended the university’s remarkable achievements in talent training, and expressed their eagerness to pursue further opportunities for exchanges and cooperation with ZJSU.


ZJSU, as a co-organizer, played a key role in hosting and facilitating the visit of university faculty members during the 29th Major Assembly of Chinese Educators. ZJSU’s responsibility was to ensure a smooth and productive experience for the participants. The primary goal was to foster meaningful exchanges and cooperation with universities in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, as well as other sister provinces and regions in Chinese mainland. By successfully fulfilling the co-organizing duties, the event aimed to promote cultural and educational exchanges and contribute to mutual understanding among people from Taiwan, Hong Kong,Macau and Chinese mainland.
