On December 18th, ZJSU released the "Action Plan for Cultivating Innovative Talents in the Era of Artificial Intelligence," which introduces the “158” system for nurturing innovative talents in the AI era. The plan aims to evolve student development programs into growth-oriented plans, making the university the first in the province to launch the "AI+" talent cultivation plan.

Yu Jianxing, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of Zhejiang Gongshang University, and Wang Yonggui, President of the university, jointly released the action plan. Huang Daren, former President of Sun Yat-sen University; Fan Liming, Director of the National New Liberal Arts Education Research Center and Head of the New Liberal Arts Construction Working Group of the Ministry of Education; Chen Jin, Vice Chairman of the UNESCO China Entrepreneurship Education Alliance and Director of the Research Center for Technological Innovation at Tsinghua University; and Sun Xiangchen, Director of the General Education Center of Fudan University, among other university experts and scholars, commented on the action plan.

Yu Jianxing said at the press conference that the university has been constantly striving in the race between education and technology, evolving from the Digital University Version 1.0 to the 1.0plus version which focuses on the construction of the disciplinary ecological system empowered by "Digital +", and further advancing towards the Version 2.0 with intelligent decision-making at its core in the future. With the action plan serving as the phased achievements, the university is actively responding to the era's call for "restart and transformation". The impact of artificial intelligence on education is not just empowerment, but also reshaping. Therefore, the main task of university education is no longer just the imparting of knowledge. It must move forward from student training programs to growth programs. He emphasized that "innovation" should be premised on the spirit of "not fearing failure". The university's action plan centers around the integration of science and education as well as the integration of industry and education. It aims to deepen the curriculum system, create a closed loop of innovative practical teaching with more linkage, and enhance the innovative origination ability of both teachers and students. At the same time, the university adheres to the principle of unifying the practice of taking root in China with the reference of international experience. By means of AI-simulated international conferences and transnational project cooperation, it cultivates students' cross-cultural communication skills and international perspectives.

Wang Yonggui elaborated on the "Action Plan for Cultivating Innovative Talents in the Era of Artificial Intelligence". He noted that in the face of the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital era, the university has been actively responsive to national policies. By leveraging its own characteristics and strengths, the university has formulated a practical talent cultivation plan, creating new elements for future universities and achieving the comprehensive digitization of teaching, learning, and management.Specifically, in terms of integrating knowledge learning with all-round development, the action plan will advance on two fronts. On one hand, with "Digital +" and "AI +" serving as driving forces, the university will enhance the construction of professional disciplines and introduce the "BAT-X" artificial intelligence course cluster. It will integrate technology into education, upgrade basic public courses (Basic), offer applied general education courses (Application), optimize advanced technical courses (Technology), and explore integrated and innovative courses (X). On the other hand, the university places emphasis on "Humanities +" and "Arts +". It has established the Golden Harvest Writing Center, inviting renowned scholars to teach. Additionally, it has launched plans for aesthetic education, physical education, and a happy campus, enabling every student to shine.

After the press conference, a high-end forum on artificial intelligence education and teaching was also held.
