It is high time to press “the restart button” of the outbound exchanges of Zhejiang Gongshang University, which has been paused for three years. Invited by the University of Sharjah, a delegation of teachers and students from School of Oriental Language and Philosophy of Zhejiang Gongshang University, was recently organized to attend the 20th Sharjah Heritage Days: Chinese Culture Exhibition. It marked the first off-line overseas exchange activity of ZJSU since the relaxation of the pandemic travel restrictions. Representatives from more than 40 countries and regions attended the event.
The exhibition featured Chinese culinary culture and architecture. At the opening ceremony, students of our university spread Chinese culture with their marvellous performances, such as Chinese Guzheng show played by Wu Ke, or Chinese calligraphy written by Li Jiawang. Exhibits with Chinese characteristics, including Chinese herbal medicine, tea, and Chinese traditional textile, had drawn the attention of other delegations and UAE media.
This traditional exhibition, having been paused since the outbreak of the pandemic, is jointly held by ZJSU Chinese Cultural Exchange Center in the UAE and the University of Sharjah. Our teachers and students would convey the charm of Chinese culture and present brilliant performances during the exhibition, serving as “storytellers” and “promotion envoys” of Chinese culture, thus driving the China-Arab education further with brilliance and strength of Zhejiang Gongshang University.
