On February 7^th,2023, Ding Fan, Educational Counsellor and Xiaoqiang Zhao, Cultural Counsellor of Embassy of China in the UAE visited the UAE Chinese Cultural Exchange Center of ZJSU. The UAE Chinese Cultural Exchange Center of ZJSU was inaugurated in Sharjah, UAE, in October 2017, and its office building was completed and opened on December 22, 2019. 

Counsellor Ding Fan and Counsellor Xiaoqiang Zhao focused on the work carried out by the Chinese Cultural Exchange Center of ZJSU, followed by a meeting with Sager Mohammed, Director of International Cultural Heritage Activity Organization Center and a friendly discussion on the cultural exchange, Chinese teaching and relevant work.

On December 9^th, 2022, during the visit to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, the General Secretary Jinping Xi delivered a keynote speech at the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, and Xi also proposed five major areas for cooperation in the next three to five years, including nurturing new highlights of language and cultural cooperation. China will cooperate with 300 universities, middle and primary schools in GCC countries on Chinese language education, work with GCC countries to set up 300 Chinese language smart classrooms, provide 3,000 “Chinese Bridge” summer/winter camp opportunities, and set up Chinese language learning and testing centers and online Chinese classes. The two sides could hold a China-GCC language and culture forum, and compile a bilingual library for people-to-people and cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

Counsellor Ding Fan highly appreciated the achievements made by Chinese Cultural Exchange Center of ZJSU. He said that as the first exchange center set up in the Gulf states, it was important to actively participate in the programmes organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China and local cultural institutions, which will thoroughly implement the principles from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s addresses, promote the Chinese Culture and teaching in primary and secondary schools of the Sharjah and the Northern Emirates of the UAE.

It is reported that in the first half of this year, the UAE Chinese Cultural Exchange Center of ZJSU and Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China will jointly organize "International Chinese Day" series of activities such as Chinese Food Culture and Chinese Architecture Exhibitions.
