Delegation from Nishogakusha University Visited ZJSU

On the afternoon of February 28th, the delegation from Nishogakusha University made up of Professor ETO Shigehiro, Director of School of Literature, MAKIZUMI Etsuko, Dean of Department of Chinese Literature, Konishi Aketoku, Director of Teaching Affairs Office and Saida tokiaki, Deputy Director of International Center visited Zhejiang Gongshang University(ZJSU). Chen Shoucan, President of ZJSU, met with the guests, along with the representatives from International Office and School of Oriental Languages and Culture.

On behalf of ZJSU, President Chen welcomed the delegation and briefly reviewed the history of the cooperation between the two universities as well as the development of the disciplines and internationalization of ZJSU. He stated that the two sides should deepen cooperation in students and faculty exchange, talents cultivation and scientific research. Also, he suggests that the cooperation should serve the friendship between the two countries by creating more communicating opportunities for the youth. Professor ETO Shigehiro appreciated the philosophy of  talents cultivation and claimed that Nishogakusha University had been always seeing the world from eastern Asias perspective. He hopes more exchanges would be carried out on the basis of mutual understanding and respect to promote the educational cooperation and cultural communications.

The two universities made a deep discussion on research cooperation of eastern Asian culture,. The two sides wish to establish a cross-fields platform for cultural scholars, entrepreneurs, experts in management and so on to explore the culture with regional characteristics and carry forward the wisdom of applying knowledge to practice, with a view to boosting the economic development of the two countries through the promotion of traditional culture such as Yang Ming Philosophy.

Nishogakusha University (二松學舍大学) is a private university in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1877, and it was chartered as a university in 1949. The two universities signed the cooperation agreement and had delivered frequent exchanges and held featured academic activities since 2005.
