On March 27th, co-hosted by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and British Council, the 2018 Sino-British Education Connection-Zhejiang Higher Education Forum was organized by ZJSU in Pioneer Park of Downtown campus.
Yu Yongming, Deputy Director General of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education , Shu Peidong, Director of Foreign Affairs Division , and Lan Jingjing, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Division, and Chen Shoucan, the President of ZJSU, Matthew Knowles, Area Director East China of British Council, and Wang Haijun, Head of Partnership of British Council, five foreign universities including De Montfort University and University of Huddersfield, and nine Zhejiang universities attended this forum .
On behalf of Education of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education , Yu Yongming extended warm congratulations on the opening ceremony. He stated that Sino-British strategic cooperation partnership has entered the “Golden Era”. In the field of education, the cooperation between Zhejiang and UK could be regarded as the Golden Era Plus. He hoped that the representatives of Chinese and British universities would make full use of this opportunity to carry out in-depth exchanges, explore topics of common interest, find joint points of cooperation, share development opportunities and achieve win-win results. Chen Shoucan expressed his sincere gratitude to Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and British Council, and sent warm welcome to all guests. He said that the opening of this forum fully demonstrated that China-UK exchanges and dialogue in higher education have reached a new level. There is one more great platform for strategic communication and all-round cooperation among universities in China and Britain. China and UK should seize opportunities, move forward together, jointly creating bright future for higher education cooperation between two countries.
During the meeting, Lan Jingjing introduced the basic state of international communication in Zhejiang Province and expressed the wishes for the bright future of cooperation and communication between Chinese and British universities. Five British universities and five Chinese universities, including ZJSU, made a brief introduction on the international exchange and cooperation intentions of own university.
In this forum, the representatives of universities and colleges in China and UK conducted a round table communication and one-to-one negotiation on their respective specialties, related cooperation projects, international exchange experience and forms. From March 28th to 29th , the delegation will also go to Ningbo to discuss educational cooperation.
