On October 16th, Abdulaziz, President of Sharjah Heritage Institute of the United Arab Emirates visited ZJSU. Chen Shoucan, President of ZJSU, and Dai Wenzhan, Vice President of ZJSU met the guests. Tao Ying, Director of the International Office and Jiang Jing, Dean of School of Oriental Languages and Culture along with related staff also attended this meeting.

On behalf of ZJSU, Chen Shoucan expressed his warmest welcome to Abdulaziz and the delegation. He delivered a brief introduction about the scale and characteristics of ZJSU and the development of Department of Arabic Language. Chen said that Chinese and Arabian civilization enjoy long history, and the Arab literature is widely known in China. Both sides have endless contacts and exchanges in economy,culture and other areas. He hoped long and effective cooperation could be achieved sincerely on the basis of past exchanges. Abdulaziz expressed his gratitude to ZJSU for its warm reception and considerate arrangement. He said China-Arab exchanges are multi-disciplinary and all-round, and friendly exchanges between China and Arab could be traced back to 2000 years ago. He also hoped China and Arab continue to make face-to-face exchanges, and welcomed teachers and students of ZJSU to visit Sharjah, promoting cultural exchange and communication between two countries.

After the meeting, Abdulaziz and his delegation, accompanied  by the teachers and students from Department of Arabic Language, visited the Student Activity Center and watched the national musical instruments, martial arts, Arab dance and magic prepared by Art Troupe. Those performances won the high praise of the chairman.
