On Sept 27th, Leela Mani Paudyal, Ambassador of Nepal to People’s Republic of China, and Wu Jianming, Honorary Consul of Honorary Consulate of Nepal in Shanghai visited ZJSU. Chen Shoucan, President of ZJSU met the guests. Tao Ying, Director of the International Office, and Song Jie, Vice Dean of School of Law along with related staff also attended this meeting.
On behalf of ZJSU, Chen Shoucan expressed his warmest welcome to Ambassador Paudyal. He made a brief introduction of characteristics and disciplines of ZJSU. Chen expressed that the culture of China and Nepal enjoys a long history. The exchange and communication of Buddhist culture have already become the important bridge contributing to promoting friendly exchanges between the two peoples. In particular, the Belt and Road Initiative further expands friendly exchanges between China and Nepal. He hoped that we could promote the cooperation and exchanges in culture and education with the support of Ambassador and put forward three suggestions: Firstly, to establish Nepal Center in ZJSU in cooperation with the Embassy and related Nepal’s colleges and universities, strengthening cooperation in cultural research, high-end think tank and so on. Secondly, to carry out the signing of the inter-school cooperation agreement and cooperation projects. Thirdly, the recommendation of Nepal’s preeminent students to study in our university will be welcomed.Those students will be provided with scholarship support .
Paudyal expressed that during the visit, the comprehensive strength and innovative ability of ZJSU left him a deep impression. The Embassy will facilitate collaboration in the mutual exchanges between teachers and students as well as scientific research between Nepal’s schools and ZJSU as soon as possible.
He mentioned that establishment of Nepal Center is of profound significance and he will give full support to its completion. He sincerely hoped that through in-depth cooperation and exchanges, a win-win bilateral cooperation will be built and inter-school and personnel exchanges will be achieved.
