On June 12th, delegation from Laurentian University led by Dominic Giroux, President of Laurentian University, visited ZJSU. Chen Shoucan, President of ZJSU, Dai Wenzhan and Su Weihua, Vice-Presidents of ZJSU met the guests. Directors of International Office also attended the meeting.
On behalf of ZJSU, Chen Shoucan expressed his warmest welcome to the delegation. He briefly introduced the history and development of ZJSU as well as its characteristics and advantages compared with other similar universities. Dai Wenzhan described the internationalization of education at ZJSU and analyzed the potential disciplines that could be cooperated between the two universities. As an old friend of Dominic Giroux, Su Weihua expressed his expectation of further cooperation between the two universities. In response, Dominic Giroux made an introduction of Laurentian University and expressed his honor to establish cooperative relation with ZJSU. He hoped that the two universities will carry out substantive cooperation on exchanges of students, teachers and joint researches. Based on the characteristics of the two universities, Chen Shoucan made a summary of the exchange programs that can be conducted in the near future and consensuses reached by leaders of the two universities.
Laurentian University was founded in 1960 in Ontario, Canada. It is one of the very two bilingual (of English and French) universities in Canada, consisting of many schools and faculties, such as the School of Environment, the School of Business, the School of Architecture,the Goodman School of Mines and the Faculty of Medicine, providing Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programs.
