On November 20th, Hiroshi Noguchi, president of Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology visited ZJSU. Chen Shoucan, president of ZJSU met with the guests. Directors of International Offices and faculties of Oriental Languages and Culture also attended the meeting.

The talk held by President Chen with President Hiroshi Noguchi and other Japanese guests was conducted in a cordial atmosphere. Chen first expressed sincere gratitude for years of support and care to ZJSU students and teachers studying in Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology. He also introduced the recent development of ZJSU and the achievements Oriental Languages and Culture made in internationalization. He hoped the two sides could continue promoting exchanges and cooperation and make more progress in mutual visits of teachers, student exchanges as well as research and development. President Hiroshi Noguchi then introduced the situation of Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology and said that he was appointed as President not long ago and felt very honored to visit ZJSU. The two sides also had in-depth discussions on artistic teaching, architectural design and information technology.

ZJSU established friendly relations with Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology officially in 2006. In the past decade, the two universities constantly conducted friendly exchanges of teachers and students. ZJSU has sent nearly 60 students to study in Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology and the leaders of ZJSU also visited this university. It was the first time for President Hiroshi Noguchi to visit ZJSU.

Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology was founded in 1940 and offered college education in 1991. It is a new private college giving priority to science and engineering and supplemented by art. Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology is located in the central region of Japan, and the west of Shizuoka boasts for automobiles (such as Suzuki, Yamaha), instruments (Yamaha) as well as optical applications and other industries. The employment of grads ranks top among the universities in Japan.
