On the afternoon of Dec 25th, Student Studying Abroad Scholarship Award Ceremony was held in the library, Xiasha Campus. Vice President Dai Wenzhan attended and addressed the ceremony. The Directors of Students’ Affair Office, Graduate School, Finance Department, International Office, and Vice Dean in charge of foreign affairs from all schools also attended the ceremony.

Firstly, on behalf of ZJSU, Vice President Dai Wenzhan extended heartfelt congratulations to students who won the scholarship. He pointed out that ZJSU set up the scholarship in the year-end of 2013 especially, in order to implement the strategy of education internationalization and foster high-quality talents with international view and competitiveness. Each year, ZJSU invested three million yuan to sponsor ZJSU students in participating various international exchange and cooperation program. The departments and schools involved have made joint efforts to optimize overseas cooperative universities and strengthen exchange and cooperation with prestigious foreign universities. ZJSU have already conducted international cooperation program with some world famous universities, such as Stanford University,Columbia University, UC Berkeley,University of Oxford. In the end, Vice President Dai Wenzhan asked nearly 100 students who will study abroad in the first half year of 2015 to bear in mind four wishes brought up by Chinese President Xi Jinping to overseas students, which is: adhere to the spirit of patriotism, study hard, participate in innovation and practice actively, and promote foreign exchange. He also hoped that they will learn to practice and learn to serve the country by taking this opportunity. Therefore, they can fulfill ambition and realize value of life in the great struggle of realizing China Dream.

After the review of Scholarship Evaluation Group，209 ZJSU students won the scholarship in the year of 2014. Among which, the highest individual scholarship amounts to 50,000 yuan. So far, over 2000 students have joined various international exchange programs, including the outstanding undergraduate student international exchange program fully financed byChina Scholarship Council, credit programs,visiting student programs, 2+1, 3+1 programs and short-term culture exchange programs.
