On the morning of April 25th, on behalf of French government, French Consul General in Shanghai Mr. Emmanuel Lenain awarded in the opening ceremony of 2012 Hangzhou French Week the Chinese Director of Alliance Française de Hangzhou Mr. Ying Yaping the“Chevalier of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques” for his great contribution to the educational and cultural exchange between China and France.
“Ordre des Palmes Académiques” was first established by Napoleon I in 1808, which aimed at praising the outstanding educators at home and abroad for their contribution to the cause of French cultural and educational study and exchange. It is the highest honor of French education, issued by Prime Minister in the form of decree.
