On Dec. 2^nd, Vice President Dai Wenzhan, together with officers of International Affairs Office and Alliance Francaise met Ms. Amaëlle Mayer, the new Education Consul of French Consulate General in Shanghai and her assistant Ms. Chen Youyao.

 

Vice President Dai extended his warm welcome to Ms. Mayer's visit at the beginning of her office and introduced the hundred-year-history of Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZGSU) and its academic settings as well as the exchange and cooperation with French universities. He also extended his gratitude to French Consulate General in Shanghai for the support of education internationalization of ZGSU and wished to keep its further cooperation with French universities and research institutions. With the delight of the first visit, Ms. Mayer appreciated the prosperous activities of education internationalization and affirmed the promising future of Alliance Francaise. She also expressed that she would provide more support for the communication and cooperation between ZGSU and French universities and its research institutions.

 

French Consulate General in Shanghai has assisted a lot in bilateral communication and cooperation between ZGSU and French universities, including University Paris Dauphine, University of Angers. It also provided the support of the establishment of Alliance Francaise in the university, which is the only institution of French training opened up to the society in Zhejiang province. The alliance organized a lot of activities and trained thousands of French talents. Meanwhile, it also widened the influence of Zhejiang Gongshang University in society and strengthened the communication of culture and friendship between China and France.
