President Zhang Renshou Met with the Delegation from University of Ottawa, Canada
On Oct. 18, President Zhang Renshou met with the vice-president of University of Ottawa, Mr. Francois Boule and his entourage, which include the associate dean of School of Arts, University of Ottawa, Mr. Richard Clement and Dr. Chen Qinghua, who is in charge of China projects of University of Ottawa. Officials from the International Affairs Office and relevant staff also attended the meeting.
   
President Zhang first extended our warm welcome to the delegation, and then introduced to our guests the basics and subject characteristics of ZJSU, especially focusing on telling them about our predominant disciplines of Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, and Law etc. He extended the hope that both universities could carry out multi-level cooperation on students exchange, academic cooperation etc. Mr. Boule introduced the history, basic information, and subject settings of University of Ottawa, and expressed the intention to carry out cooperation with our university.

University of Ottawa is a research university in Canada, and also one of the oldest universities of the country. Its predecessor is the former “College of Bytown” founded in 1848. It began to grant the bachelor's degree in 1872, master’s degree in 1875, and doctoral degree in 1888. At present, there are more than 30,000 full-time students in University of Ottawa, of whom are over 1,000 international students, adding up to 4% of the total students. It has nine schools in all, namely, School of Management, School of Literature, School of Education, School of Engineering, School of Health, School of Law, School of Medicine, School of Science, and School of Social Science.
