On May 25, we welcomed a delegation of six persons from University of Ulster, UK, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Richard Barnett. President HU Jianmiao of Zhejiang Gongshang University met with the foreign visitors.

Leaders of the two universities discussed such issues as mutual cooperation, exchange of faculties and students, as well as joint research activities. As both parties had common understandings, they signed an agreement of cooperation. Relevant staff members of the International Office also attended the meeting.

Before this meeting, the guests had a look around the Library, the Sports Center and the Teaching Buildings of Zhejiang Gongshang University. They expressed their appreciation for the fine facilities of teaching and learning, as well as the beautiful environment.

University of Ulster is located at Belfast, Capital of Northern Ireland. It is the most successful comprehensive university of Northern Ireland. With solid teaching and research strength, the university has been considered as a driving force for the social, economic and cultural development of Northern Ireland. Currently, the university has six faculties. They are the faculties of Arts, Art, Design and the Built Environment, Ulster Business School, Computing and Engineering, Life and Health Sciences, and Social Sciences.

Belfast City is also of world renown for its shipbuilding industry. The world-famous Titanic was built here.
